It's True, The World Is Healing While We Stay at Home

By now we’ve established that the world as we know it has forever changed.

One of the biggest (and most positive) changes brought about as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak, is a cleaner and more healthy environment.

With most of the world confined to their homes, the world is literally healing.

The Venice canals were one of the first places people noticed a “cleaner” environment. Shortly after Italy’s official lockdown, many local residents noticed the change and posted photographs of the sparkling, clear water - as it is usually murky and crowded with boats.

Earlier this week, video footage of a Jellyfish gliding through the canals went viral!

In New York, carbon monoxide emissions are down by 50%; Mount Kenya can be seen from Nairobi (a sight many residents say they have never seen from the city); In Rome, air pollution levels from mid-March to mid-April were down 49% from a year ago; Smog has lifted in major cities like LA and New Delhi; and wildlife is more robust.

Don’t call it a comeback, but Mother Nature always prevails;

A conversation about climate change, and what we need to do differently as a society in regards to climate change, has never been more relevant.
