Lovecraft Country
This past Friday, HBO finally released the first trailer for Lovecraft Country, a highly anticipated project from executive producers, Jordan Peele, Misha Green, J. J. Abrams, and Ben Stephenson.
The upcoming drama-horror television series is based on Matt Ruff's 2016 novel (of the same name) and is set to premiere this coming August. Lovecraft Country is set in 1950’s America, and follows the story of a man, Atticus Black (played by Jonathan Majors), and his friends in search of his father - while encountering racism and supernatural events along the way.
Jurnee Smollett-Bell, Abbey Lee, Aunjanue Ellis, Wunmi Mosaku and Michael K. Williams join Majors as apart of the main cast. Recurring cast include; Courtney B. Vance, Jamie Harris, Tony Goldwyn, Jamie Chung, Erica Tazel, Jordan Patrick Smith, Jamie Neumann and Mac Brandt.
I’m excited to watch the series, although I’m not too sure what to expect. It’s giving me Underground meets Stranger Things vibes thus far. Watch the trailer below and let us know what you think in the comments!
