Without Little Richard, We Wouldn't Have This 2006 Hit...

I didn’t exactly grow up listening to Little Richard, but for as long as I can remember, I’ve known who he was.

Of course by the time I was a kid, he was much older, and I knew him from making cameos on a few of my favorite TV shows, such as Sesame Street, Full House and Martin. I only knew him as the flamboyant man that played the piano, and kind of made me laugh. But my people (we all love and respect music around here) made sure that I knew he was much more than that. They made sure I knew he was a Rock and Roll icon - the architect of the genre if you will.

Yet and still, I was today-years-old when I learned that Fergie’s 2006 smash hit, Clumsy, was a sample of Little Richards 1956 smash hit, The Girl Can’t Help it.

You learn something everyday.
